DMKI Lab (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
Our Core Principle
We believe privacy is a fundamental right, not a feature. Our desktop software is designed to process everything locally on your device. We have no access to your files, your voice models, your audio recordings, or any content you create.
Data We Do Not Collect
Our desktop applications, including SoundWorks, do not collect:
- Personal information (name, email, location)
- Usage telemetry or analytics
- File contents or metadata
- Voice recordings or voice models
- Project data or configuration
- Device identifiers or hardware information
There is no hidden data collection. The software contains zero tracking code.
Data We May Collect
Website Visits
When you visit dmkilab.com, we may collect anonymous, aggregate data through privacy-respecting analytics (if enabled). This may include:
- Pages visited and referral source
- Country-level geographic data (not precise location)
- Browser type and screen resolution
This data is collected in aggregate and cannot identify individual visitors. No personal data is stored.
Email Communication
If you contact us via email at hello@dmkilab.com, we receive your email address and message content. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list or share your email with third parties.
Telegram Community
Our Telegram channel and community group are operated on the Telegram platform. Participation is governed by Telegram’s own privacy policy. We do not collect or store data from community interactions.
Third-Party Services
Optional Cloud Features
SoundWorks includes optional integrations with third-party AI services (such as OpenAI and Anthropic). When you use these features:
- You provide your own API key directly to the third-party service
- Data is transmitted directly between your device and the third party
- We do not intercept, proxy, or store any of this data
- The third party’s privacy policy governs that data
These features are entirely optional. All core functionality works offline without any third-party service.
Website Hosting
Our website is hosted on an edge platform (such as Vercel, Netlify, or Cloudflare Pages). The hosting provider may collect standard server logs (IP address, request timestamp, page URL) as part of normal operation. These logs are governed by the hosting provider’s privacy policy.
Cookies and Local Storage
Our website uses minimal cookies and local storage:
- Theme preference: Stored in localStorage to remember your dark/light mode choice. This stays on your device and is never transmitted.
- Analytics cookies: If analytics are enabled, a minimal cookie may be set. No personally identifiable information is stored.
See our Cookie Policy for full details.
Data Retention
- Desktop software: We retain no data because we collect no data.
- Website analytics: Aggregate data is retained for up to 12 months.
- Email correspondence: We retain emails for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry, then delete them.
Your Rights
Under GDPR and similar privacy regulations, you have the right to:
- Access: Request what data we hold about you (for most users, the answer is none).
- Deletion: Request deletion of any data we may hold.
- Portability: Request your data in a standard format.
- Objection: Object to any data processing.
Since our desktop software collects no data, these rights primarily apply to any email correspondence or website analytics.
To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@dmkilab.com.
Children’s Privacy
Our software and services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
