These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) describe the principles you should be aware of in order to use our software and services. We have tried to make them as clear and concise as possible. Please read them carefully, as they outline the policies that affect your experience using our products.
Due to the different nature of each product, these terms cover all of our software and services but are not applicable in whole to any single one. For example, the data processing section is not applicable to standalone desktop software that processes data entirely on your device.
License Grant
DMKI Lab grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use our software in accordance with these Terms. For SoundWorks and other free desktop applications, this license is granted at no cost for both personal and commercial use.
Content you create using our software — audio files, video files, transcriptions, voice models, and other outputs — belongs entirely to you. There are no licensing restrictions, royalty requirements, or usage limitations on your output.
Processing of Your Data
Standalone desktop applications, including SoundWorks, do not collect any data. All processing is performed on your equipment and is never transmitted to us under any circumstance.
None of our desktop applications gather telemetry. There is no tracking, analytics, or hidden data collection. The only network request is an optional update check, which sends no identifying information.
When you choose to use optional cloud features (such as ChatGPT or Claude integration via your own API key), that traffic goes directly to the third-party provider. We do not intercept, store, or have access to that data.
Collection of Information
We are committed to minimal data collection. Our desktop software collects no personal information. Our website collects only what is necessary for basic functionality:
- Website analytics: If analytics are enabled, we collect anonymous, non-personally-identifying usage data (page views, referral sources). No cookies are used for tracking individual users.
- Downloads: Download links are served directly. We do not track individual download events or collect information about who downloads our software.
All collection of information is transparent. We never transfer data through hidden channels, and any data sharing is always initiated by you.
Prohibited Conduct
We do not restrict how you use the content created with our software. Our restrictions apply only to the software itself:
- Software: You may not disassemble, reverse-engineer, or repackage our software, except for the purpose of a personal, undisclosed security audit. This restriction exists to prevent fake or malicious versions of our software from appearing.
- Community channels: Our community channels (Telegram groups and other platforms) may have their own rules, which generally amount to common sense — no spam, no illegal content, and respectful communication.
Intellectual Property
DMKI Lab retains all rights to its software, brand, and associated materials. You may not use DMKI Lab trademarks, logos, or branding in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without written permission.
Open-source components included in our software retain their original licenses. Attribution information is available within the application.
No Ads or Trackers
We do not use advertising or tracking in any of our software or services. Our products are funded through our commitment to building useful tools, not through monetizing user data or attention.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Our software is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. While we strive to deliver reliable, high-quality software, we do not guarantee that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose.
It is your responsibility to ensure that output from our software is reviewed and validated before use in critical applications.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DMKI Lab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use our software or services.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our software after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
